Arsenal have lost Mathieu Flamini and Jens Lehmann this summer already, while Alexander Hleb is close to sealing a move to Barcelona and Emmanuel Adebayor’s future is in doubt. Now there is a possibility that they will have to do without Gilberto Silva as well.
The Brazilian holding midfielder became disenchanted with life at Arsenal last year as he found himself on the sidelines for most of the season. Now, he is looking for a move to Greek side Panathinaikos, according to Setanta Sports.
“As far as I know the player and the agent will travel to Athens to meet with the Panathinaikos people.
“If Gilberto reaches an agreement then we will reach an agreement.” said Ken Friar, Arsenal’s acting managing director, according to Setanta Sports.
