Arsenal target hints at Premier League move

The agent of Varese full-back Achraf Lazaar has revealed that his client could soon make a switch to English Premier League.

TalkSPORT claims that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is interested in signing the 20-year-old, who is seen as one of the hottest prospects in Italian Serie B.

The Varese left-back has been attracting interest from major European sides and he is widely tipped to leave the Italian minnows at the end of the season.

The player’s representative Ali Barat has moved to confirm reports linking his client with a move to England.

“There’s been a lot of interest from plenty of clubs from around Europe,” Barat told talkSPORT.

“He’s very similar to Gareth Bale in terms of pace and athleticism. I think he will be a big player in the Premier League very soon.”

Arsene Wenger can currently count on Kieran Gibbs and Andre Santos to cover the left-back position, but with both players largely struggling with injuries, he may decide to add another left-sided player to the ranks.

Lazaar is currently playing for Varese’s youth squad, but it looks as though he will leave the club before getting a chance to feature for the senior side.
