Despite having seen some players departing, other players seeking greener pastures and news that they might have to sell their best players and bring in cheaper alternatives to pay for their brand new stadium, it has not been a disastrous summer for The Gunners. Arsene Wenger has already made some meaningful additions to his squad and there are more to come.
According to a report is The Sun, Arsenal have signed another French player, in the shape of Amaury Bischoff. The midfielder, whose contract with German side Werder Bremen has expired, is close to agreeing personal terms with Arsenal, according to the same report.
“Bremen was superb but Arsenal is a huge opportunity for me. Wenger trusts me to be in the first-team and he has not put me under any pressure for the move. He told me to take all the time I needed.†Said 21 year-old Bischoff, according to the report.
Once the two sides agree a deal, UEFA will ask Arsenal to pay Werder Bremen a compensation fee as the player is not over the age of 24 and hence cannot leave on a free transfer.
