Arsenal’s Campbell joins Frosinone

Italian club Frosinone have officially signed Arsenal striker Joel Campbell, after years of the Costa Rican spending time out on loan. The 26-year-old, who joined the Gunners way back in 2011, has played for a who’s who of European clubs on loan such as Lorient, Betis, Olympiacos, Villarreal, Sporting CP, Betis again and now Frosinone.

For the most part, though, he’s been unable to find consistency when it comes to his goalscoring ability. While he’s certainly effective in other areas of the pitch he’s never been viewed as someone who can make much of an impact for Arsenal, who have the likes of Aubameyang and Lacazette leading the line for them at the Emirates.

Frosinone are a relatively small club in the realms of Italian football, with a stadium capacity of just over 16,000. Still, they earned their way into Serie A with promotion from Serie B last season, and they’ll be hoping Campbell can assist them in making a statement to the rest of the league in the weeks to come.
