A move to Barcelona is getting closer for Arsenal’s Alexander Hleb, according to the Guardian.

Arsene Wenger is still keen on keeping his midfielder at the Emirates, after his proposed move to Inter Milan fell apart when Jose Mourinho was appointed as their new coach. But it looks like he will have a very tough task of trying to convince the 27-year-old to remain at Arsenal.

Hleb’s agent Vincenzo Morabito said: “A deal is close. He’s been a Barcelona target for some months.

I’m sorry that we won’t be able to take him to Italy, he liked Inter a lot but obviously Mourinho has made some different choices and has gone for some other names.”

The Guardian also reports that Real Madrid are still in the picture, and are still very keen on signing the Arsenal midfielder. It appears like the two Spanish titans will battle it out to the end.

A team has never fallen apart because of one player no matter how good that player is.Hleb’s contribution 2 Arsenal has so far added 2 d exitement gained 4m watching English football but when the player feels he cannot b replaced 4 whatever reason,he should b allowed 2 move on with his life/career.If Hleb leavas Arsenal remains in the premiereship i’m still a 21 gun tottin’,salutin’ fan
