Arshavin set for Real Madrid move

Zenit St Petersburg star Andrei Arshavin looks set to join Spanish giants Real Madrid.

New Real Madrid coach Juande Ramos tried to sign the Russian striker while in charge of Tottenham but failed with a £16million bid.

Ramos has now immediately targeted the 27-year-old after moving to the Bernabeu.

Arshavin claims there are also several other Spanish clubs, as well as Serie A and Premiership clubs that are interested in his signature.

Arshavin said: “I can confirm that officials from Zenit have begun preliminary negotiations with Real Madrid about my transfer.

“At the moment there is nothing concrete on the table. Also, there is contact with other Spanish clubs, as well as Italian and English clubs.”

Arshavin is the one of the best playmakers in the world. The way he played and helped Russian National Team on EURO 2008 is amazing. He is now 27, and he plays on the same level as he played before. When he was 21, 22 etc. He is an excellent player, and I am pretty sure that he will be moving to the GRAND club.
