Premier League champions have submitted a €33 million bid for Kostas Manolas, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

As the Blues captain John Terry has had his bags all packed up for a summer exit, the London-based club are looking for a worthy and a long-standing replacement.

AS Roma defender has been identified as the main target and Chelsea’s representatives have allegedly submitted an offer in attempt to wrap up the deal for the Greek stopper before the end of the season.

And despite the fact that initial offer has been rejected, Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Giallorossi would be willing to sell their prized possession for a bid closer to €45 million.

Kostas Manolas arrived in Rome during the summer of 2014 and he has since then became one of the key figures in his club.

The 24-year-old defender has racked up 36 appearances across competitions for AS Roma this season.
