AS Roma to turn Grenier’s loan move into permanent deal

Il Corriere dello Sport understands that AS Roma are thinking about triggering the buy-out clause in Clement Grenier’s contract.

The highly rated midfielder joined on loan with an option to buy in the January window, and he has since made just two appearances for the Giallorossi.

However, the club officials have been impressed with his performance in the 3-0 triumph over Palermo and they already seem prepared to activate a €3.5 million purchase clause.

Grenier had been regarded as one of France’s hottest prospects just a couple of years back, but a succession of injuries seriously derailed his career.

Even with Lyon ready to cash in on his services, there were not too many clubs ready to take the gamble in the January window, but AS Roma could now be rewarded for the risky approach.

With Grenier just recently turning 26, this could prove to be a very good deal for the Giallorossi.
