Juventus midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah is buoyant about his side’s hopes of a third-straight Serie A title thanks to some big-name signings.
Juve have welcomed strikers Carlos Tevez and Fernando Llorente to Turin during the European summer transfer window, while defender Angelo Ogbonna has also joined.
Asamoah made 27 appearances for Juve last term and is convinced the new arrivals will make his team a formidable prospect for their challengers this season.
“We’ve brought in three excellent signings and if we work well together, without ever giving in, we’ll be able to enjoy a good season,” the Ghanaian international said.
“We’re working hard in pre-season and it’s inevitable you’ll feel an element of fatigue but we knew that already after last year. After all, this is precisely where our strength comes from; the hard work we put in during training.
“We’ll give our all to do well in both Serie A and the Champions League, without forgetting our first target, the Italian Super Cup (against Lazio on August 18).”
Asamoah was glowing in his praise for new centre back Angelo Ogbonna, who was a standout for Torino last term before missing two months of the season due to hernia surgery.
“I already knew Ogbonna and saw many of his games last season,” Asamoah said.
“He’s a fine player, he’s not just good as a defender, but also intelligent with the ball at his feet.”
