Ashley Cole rejects Roma exit

Daily Mirror understands that AS Roma defender Ashley Cole does not want to leave the club this summer.

The 34-year-old has been deemed surplus to requirements at Stadio Olimpico, with the Giallorossi adding Lucas Digne and Emerson Palmieri to their ranks.

And while Roma officials have proposed Cole to have his contract rescinded after he was not included in club’s Champions League squad, the former England star has rejected the offer.

He doesn’t seem ready to leave Stadio Olimpico despite the fact that he has no future at the club and will probably see out the remainder of his contract which expires in a year’s time.

Ashley Cole joined AS Roma on a free transfer from Chelsea a year ago, but could only make 11 league appearances during his first season at the club.

Everything suggests he has already played his final game for the Giallorossi and it remains to be seen whether the two parties can resolve the current situation.
