Ashley Young nears Old Trafford exit

Daily Express has suggested that underperforing winger Ashley Young could be leaving Manchester United in the January transfer window.

The experienced footballer is not exactly in the first team plans of Louis van Gaal and chances are he will be allowed to leave in the winter.

According to the latest reports, the likes of Aston Villa, Sunderland and Southampton are currently vying for his signature.

Young has another two years left on his deal at Old Trafford, so the winter transfer window will feel as the perfect time to cash in on his services.

Ashley Young joined United in a £15 million deal from Aston Villa three years ago, but he has largely struggled to prove his worth in Manchester.

The 29-year-old, who has 30 England caps to his name, made a total of 67 Premier League appearances for the Red Devils, and has scored 8 goals in the process.
