Aston Villa 21/20 to beat Ipswich in Saturdays Championship clash

Competition: Championship

Market: Aston Villa win

Odds: 21/20 @ Bet 365

After enjoying an impressive start to the new campaign and booking their spot in the next round of the EFL Cup, Steve Bruce’s Aston Villa side will travel to Portman Road on Saturday afternoon.

Starting with the hosts, although many at Portman Road thought that former Shrewsbury boss Paul Hurst would be the man to guide The Blues to the playoffs, Ipswich have struggled entering the new year. Along with last years top scorer Martin Waghorn heading to Derby over the summer, the hosts are now coming off the back of a penalties loss to lower league Exeter that saw them crash out of the EFL Cup. Now failing to win any of their last four matches in all competitions, many in the South East believe this could be a difficult year for The Trotters.

As for the visitors, although there were several financial issues surrounding Villa Park earlier in the summer, new investment means that the mood in the Midlands has rapidly improved. While they weren’t at their best in their 1-0 win over Yeovil in midweek, Villa have done well to fend off Tottenham to keep talisman Jack Grealish and The Villans will be eyeing another crack at the playoffs. Winning their last four on the bounce and scoring nine in their winning run, Villa will travel to Portman Road as a clear favorite.
