According to the Birmingham Mail, Paul Robinson is a target for Aston Villa. The former England number one has lost the confidence of Tottenham manager Juande Ramos and will look to move on in order to get first team football.
Aston Villa, who failed to make Scott Carson’s loan move from Liverpool permanent, will try to address the goalkeeping situation this summer. And the Birmingham Mail believes that Martin O’Neill will attempt to buy the £5 million-rated Paul Robinson.
But Robinson will not be guaranteed a first team spot at Villa Park next season. O’Neill is also looking to bring in 23 year old Brad Guzan. The American goalkeeper was set to join the club in January according to the Birmingham Mail, but failed to gain a work permit. Now Villa will try again.

Got something to say?

great news as a spurs fan i wish robbo all the best as a man he was first class as a goaly he was second class and if he goes we will be guaranteed 6 points ha ha ha
mon needs to shore uphis defence two new keepers and a defence is needed, robinson is better than carson and far cheaper. with the likes of wayne bride being looked at in defence i see the villa being tighter at the back next year.
robbo, do us a favour and stay at small club spurs, where you get to play in front of a massive 34,000 every week who are so deluded they think 2 league titles qualifies them as a big club. in reality, it is only cos they re london based and have the mockneys in the media bumming them every day that they are any more significant than middlesborough.
Why?
Where is the question????
Robinson to Villa, because villa havent got a keeper and MON rates him, and in Robinsons case because Villa are a top 6 club in europe and are the highest placed team chasing him.
Case solved.
The fact that Guzan might come surely means nothing, I dont think Robinson the 28 yr old keeper prem kepper bought for around 5 mill will be worried about having to compete with a up and coming American from the MLS.
