James Milner wants to end a football marathon by capping a tournament double at the World Cup in South Africa,The Sun reported. Aston Villa winger Milner, 23, is a key member of the England Under-21s’ bid to lift the European Championship in Sweden this June.
Uefa rules allow him to feature as he was 21 when qualification for the tournament started. Milner also has a great shout of being included in Fabio Capello’s World Cup squad next year.
And with Milner one of the first names on Villa boss Martin O’Neill’s teamsheet, he faces a staggering run of matches. He said: “I could play non-stop for two years but I’m not worried. The more successful you are with your club, the more you’ll be playing in tournaments”.
“Rest is a massive thing. I’m lucky to be at a club where the boss is aware of that. He gives you time off in between the games.â€Â
