Basel defender Aleksandar Dragovic is on the verge of agreeing a summer move to Atletico Madrid, Punto Pelota, a program on Spanish TV Intereconomia, has revealed.
Atletico Madrid have opened talks with the player’s club and are believed to be close to striking a €5 million deal for the talented defender.
Los Colchoneros are determined to continue their recent uptrend and are already working on reinforcing the squad for the 2013/2014 season.
They are believed to have agreed to sign Rayo Vallecano forward Leo Baptistao, with Dragovic set to follow.
Aleksandar Dragovic, 21, is a cultured centre-back, who already boasts a great deal of experience, and he is tipped to develop into a high-quality defender in the coming years.
Despite his fragile age, he has made 128 top flight appearances while featuring for Austria Wien and Basel, scoring 2 goals in the process.
Dragovic, who has a contract until June 2015, also has 18 Austria caps to his name.
