Atletico eyeing Rui Patricio; Leverkusen join race for Menez

hot-transfer-newsAtletico eyeing Rui Patricio

Atletico Madrid are keeping close tabs on Sporting Lisbon goalkeeper Rui Patricio, according to Record.

Los Colchoneros are on the lookout for a new number one as first choice keeper Thibaut Courtois looks set to return to Chelsea when his loan spell ends.

And Record has suggested that Sporting Lisbon star Rui Patricio is one of the first names on their hit-list.

Los Colchoneros have been closely monitoring the 26-year-old for a couple of years now, and they finally look ready to step up their interest.

Rui Patricio is unlikely to come on the cheap though considering that he is tied to the Lions until June 2018.

The highly rated goalkeeper has spent his entire career up to date at Estadio Jose Alvalade, and he has been Portugal’s first choice keeper for several years now.

Leverkusen join race for Menez

French newspaper L’Equipe has revealed that Bayer Leverkusen are showing interest in Paris Saint-Germain winger Jeremy Menez.

Having failed to agree a contract extension with the Saints, the France international is set to leave on a free transfer at the end of the season.

He has so far been linked with a host of Europe’s top clubs, with German giants Bayer Leverkusen the latest side to join the chase for his signature.

Die Werkself see Menez as a perfect replacement for star player Sidney Sam, who has agreed to join Schalke in the summer.

Jeremy Menez has spent last two and a half years at Parc des Princes, making 74 league appearances and scoring 14 goals.

The 26-year-old is being heavily linked with a return to Italian Serie A, although former club Monaco are also believed to be keen.

Despite suffering three defeats in last four league matches, Bayer Leverkusen remain 1/4 favourites for a top 4 finish in Bundesliga.

Inter linked to Jeison Murillo

La Gazzetta dello Sport is reporting that Inter Milan are considering a summer bid for Granada defender Jeison Murillo.

The Nerazzurri have already secured the signing of Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic, but they may need to add another centre-back to their ranks in the summer.

Namely, Cristian Chivu, Walter Samuel, Rolando and Andrea Ranocchia could all leave at the end of the campaign, and that is why the club are keeping close tabs on Granada stopper Jeison Murillo.

Sporting director Piero Ausilio believes the youngster has what it takes to succeed at Giuseppe Meazza and Inter could be stepping up their interest in the summer.

Murillo, 21, joined Granada from Udinese in 2011 and following successful loan spells with Cadiz and Las Palmas, he has established himself as a first team regular at Estadio Nuevo Los Carmenes this term.

The Colombian has a contract until June 2019 with los Rojiblancos and is also believed to be on the radar of Atletico Madrid.
