Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo said that Saturday’s 2-0 loss to Real Madrid was nothing more than ‘just three points’ dropped.

Goals from Cristiano Ronaldo and Mesut Oezil were enough to give Jose Mourinho’s side the victory at the Santiago Bernabeu, but Cerezo has said Diego Simeone’s men have moved on from the defeat and are concentrating on the visit of Deportivo La Coruna on Sunday.

“A party is a party and the three points in this case went to Real Madrid but ultimately they are just three points,” Cerezo told reporters.

“What awaits us now is Deportivo La Coruna. We’ll hope to play a good game, win and keep our run in the league going. We have done very well so far.

“The derby was not a particularly hard derby, it was normal. There was no good play [from either side] in the first half and Madrid played better in the second half, but nothing more.”

The win meant Real closed the gap on third-placed Atletico to five points in La Liga.
