Atletico join race for Ligue 1 starlet

Spanish giants Atletico Madrid are considering a summer swoop for Nice full-back Jordan Amavi, according to L’Equipe.

Los Colchoneros are in the market for a left-sided defender considering that both Guilherme Siqueira and Cristian Ansaldi have failed to impress at Vicente Calderon.

Atletico appear to be weighing up a summer bid for Nice starlet Jordan Amavi, who exploded onto the big stage this season.

French giants Lyon were the first high profile side to express their interest, but they have since puled out of the race as the 21-year-old is too expensive for them.

Atletico Madrid would probably have no problems meeting Nice’s valuation of the defender, although it is believed the player prefers staying in France for the time being.

Jordan Amavi, who currently represents France Under 21 side, has been in excellent form this season, starting 36 Ligue 1 fixtures and scoring impressive 4 goals in the process.
