French daily newspaper L’Equipe has learned that Atletico Madrid are hot on the trail of Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani.

Los Colchoneros seem ready to shake up their attacking options in the summer, with Mario Mandzukic and Arda Turan being linked with moves away from Vicente Calderon.

As a result, Diego Simeone appears to have made PSG’s Edinson Cavani his number one target and he reportedly informed the striker of his interest through his international teammate Diego Godin.

The Uruguayan may have a contract until June 2018 at Parc des Princes, but he is reportedly hoping to leave the Saints at the end of the current campaign.

Cavani is believed to be unhappy at being played out of position and is ready to consider his options in the summer.

The 28-year-old joined PSG in a mega money deal from Napoli two years back and has since scored 24 goals in 54 Ligue 1 outings.

Real interest in Vietto confirmed

European powerhouses Real Madrid and Liverpool are among clubs showing interest in Villarreal hotshot Luciano Vietto, according to the forward’s agent.

The 21-year-old has enjoyed a dream start to his career at El Madrigal, scoring no fewer than 18 goals already this season, catching the eye of top European sides in the process.

His official representative has now suggested that Vietto could be leaving the Yellow Submarine for greener pastures at the end of the season, revealing interest from Real Madrid and Liverpool, among other clubs.

“We know that a lot of big clubs are watching Luciano Vietto. There is a lot of competition for him,” agent Jorge Cysterpiller said at a public event.

“He could sign for Liverpool, we know that he is admired by the Reds, as well as Real Madrid and two Bundesliga clubs. I think he could leave Villarreal in the summer.”

Luciano Vietto only joined the Yellow Submarine last summer, but he quickly developed into an important player at El Madrigal. It is important to note that his release clause stands at just €10 million.

Llorente nears Juventus exit

Spanish striker Fernando Llorente is expected to leave Juventus at the end of the season, Tuttosport can reveal.

The former Athletic Bilbao striker has lost his place in the side to Alvaro Morata, and the Bianconeri are prepared to listen to offers for his services having signed him on a free transfer two years ago.

La Liga high-flyers Sevilla have enquired about the possibility of recruiting Llorente and were in turn quoted a €16 million asking price.

Meanwhile, Liverpool and Atletico Madrid are also believed to be keen, with the Spaniard still held in high regard by Europe’s top clubs.

Llorente, 30, bagged 21 goals in 55 Serie A matches since joining Juventus, while netting three times in the Champions League.

After holding Roma to a 1-1 draw at the weekend, the Bianconeri play host to rivals Fiorentina in the first leg of the Coppa Italia semis, and they have been made 8/15 favourites to win the first match.
