Atletico Madrid bid for Nolito; Danny announces Zenit exit

hot-transfer-newsAtletico Madrid bid for Nolito

La Liga giants Atletico Madrid are stepping up their efforts to sign Spanish forward Nolito from Celta Vigo, AS has revealed.

It is no secret that los Colchoneros are on the lookout for attacking reinforcements and they appear to be hot on the trail of the former Barcelona starlet.

According to AS, Atletico have submitted a €10 million bid for the 28-year-old footballer, plus offering various performance related bonuses.

However, while Nolito has an €18 million release clause on his contract, Celta have informed their league rivals they would settle for €14 million.

And with the forward enjoying a brilliant season in La Liga, scoring 13 goals and producing as many assists, Atletico should eventually match the asking price.

Nolito had been showing some promise while at Benfica and Granada, but it was at Celta Vigo that he finally realised his full potential, bagging 27 league goals in two years.

Danny announces Zenit exit

Portuguese midfielder Danny has announced that he will be leaving Zenit at the end of the current campaign.

The 31-year-old had a key role to play in club’s success over the last few years, but he decided to look for a new challenge when his current contract comes to an end.

Danny has informed the club fans that he has failed to reach an agreement over a contract extension with Zenit.

“The club and I have not reached an agreement, so on Saturday I will play my final game in Zenit jersey,” Danny said to club’s official Twitter account.

Despite joining the club in a €30 million move from Dynamo Moscow seven years ago, the highly rated footballer has succeeded in justifying the hefty price tag.

Danny helped Zenit lift three league trophies, scoring 42 goals and producing 51 assists in 136 league appearances.

Sporting eyeing Brazilian midfielder

Sporting Lisbon are weighing up summer bid for Atletico Mineiro midfielder Giovanni Augusto, according to A Bola.

The Lions have been closely following the player’s performances over the last year and they seem ready to step up their interest.

A Bola has suggested that Augusto should be available for some €1.5 million seeing as he is not regarded a first team regular at Estadio Raimundo Sampaio.

The 25-year-old began his professional career at Atletico Mineiro, but he has so far amassed mere ten league appearances for the Brazilian giants.

Nevertheless, having shown some promise during loan spells with Nautico, Gremio Barueri, Criciuma, ABC and Figueirense, he now looks set for a move to Europe.

Augusto made four league appearances for Atletico Mineiro this team, while also featuring in two Copa Libertadores fixtures.
