Atletico Madrid eyeing Mangala; Van Wolfswinkel on Benfica radar

hot-transfer-newsAtletico Madrid eyeing Mangala

El Confidencial is reporting that Atletico Madrid are considering a summer move on FC Porto defender Eliaquim Mangala.

Los Colchoneros are likely to stay without centre-back Miranda, who is followed by some of Europe’s top sides and they are on the lookout for a new central defender.

And El Confidencial has suggested that they have been offered a chance to sign Porto’s Eliaquim Mangala through the player’s representative.

FIFA agent Jorge Mendes has a very good relationship with Atletico Madrid officials and he believes Vicente Calderon outfit would be a great destination for his client.

Considering that los Colchoneros boss Diego Simeone also rates the player highly, there is a good chance the La Liga side will step up their interest in the coming weeks.

However, the fact Mangala is likely to cost more than what they can receive for Miranda, it remains to be seen if Atletico Madrid will have enough money to fund the transfer.

Van Wolfswinkel on Benfica radar

Norwich striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel is being mentioned as a possible reinforcement for Benfica, A Bola has learned.

The Eagles expect to cash in on experienced striker Oscar Cardozo and they need a new attacker to challenge Lima for a starting berth.

According to A Bola, Benfica coach Jorge Jesus has made former Sporting Lisbon striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel one of his primary targets.

The 25-year-old has utterly failed to prove his worth in English Premier League, having netted once in 25 league appearances this term.

And with Norwich also getting relegated to the Championship, there is every chance the Dutch striker will be available for sale this summer.

Ricky van Wolfswinkel had spent two very successful seasons in Portuguese Primeira Liga, scoring 28 goals in 55 league outings for Sporting Lisbon.

Saint Etienne plan Isimat-Mirin swoop

Monaco starlet Nicolas Isimat-Mirin could be joining Saint Etienne in the summer, L’Equipe has revealed.

The 22-year-old has made just six league appearances since joining from Valenciennes a year ago and there is a chance he will be leaving Stade Louis II in the upcoming transfer window.

According to L’Equipe, Saint Etienne will attempt to sign the talented centre-back on a season-long loan.

Namely, with Kurt Zouma leaving for Chelsea, les Verts believe Isimat-Mirin would be an excellent replacement for the talented footballer.

Having struggled for playing time at Monaco, Isimat-Mirin has lost his place in the France Under-21 side and no doubt he would be interested in a switch to Stade Geoffroy-Guichard.

Prior to joining the Principality club, the youngster had amassed a total of 73 Ligue 1 appearances, scoring 1 goal.
