Atletico Madrid keen on Reece Oxford

19-year old Reece Oxford has long been considered one of the most exciting defensive prospects in world football, and the West Ham youngster has spent this season out on loan at Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach.

In truth Oxford has largely struggled to establish much game time at all, but there is little doubt of his potential, and he has caught the eye of Spanish giants Atletico Madrid, according to the Telegraph.

Oxford has featured just three times in the Bundesliga this season, and his highest total of senior league games in a single season was seven back in 2015-16. It is often for England’s youth teams that he has impressed however, and at just 19-years of age the central defender has a lot of room for growth.

Atletico Madrid are famed for being one of Europe’s top defensive units, and Oxford would certainly develop at a scintillating rate if he did move to the Spanish capital, especially under manager Diego Simeone.
