Atsu closing in on Bournemouth switch

Premier League newcomers AFC Bournemouth are on the verge of signing Chelsea winger Christian Atsu on loan, according to the Mail Online.

Cherries boss Eddie Howe, who was earlier this week named the LMA Manager of the Year, is keen to act fast as he looks to assemble a squad that can compete in the top flight.

Having already wrapped up deals for goalkeeping duo Artur Boruc and Adam Federici and striker Josh King, Howe has turned his attention to wide positions and has targeted the 23 year old, who has recently had an underwhelming season on loan at Everton.

The Ghana international started just five games in all competitions for Roberto Martinez’s side, and is yet to feature at all for his parent club, having moved to Stamford Bridge from Porto in the summer of 2013.

As they prepare for their first ever season in England’s top division, Bournemouth can be backed at 11/10 to be relegated back to the second tier next May.
