Borussia Dortmund forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has ruled out a summer move away from Signal Iduna Park amid reports linking him with a host of European clubs, including Chelsea, Liverpool and Newcastle United.
The Gabon international, 25, played a second-string role behind star quartet Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Jakub Błaszczykowski, Marco Reus and Robert Lewandowski last term.
The latter has since left the club, having joined Bundesliga winners Bayern Munich on a free transfer, giving Aubameyang a legitimate chance of tying down a starting place in Jürgen Klopp’s side.
Recent reports have suggested a move to Italy’s Serie A could be on the cards for the former Saint-Étienne ace, with AC Milan, Internazionale and Roma reportedly keen on the 25-year-old.
However, Aubameyang has rubbished the aforementioned speculation, insisting he will stay in Dortmund.
“I am under contract with Borussia Dortmund until June 2018,” the Gabon forward told Sport-BILD.
“I never wanted to leave and I am not out to leave the club.
“There has been no-one trying to lure me away from Dortmund. That’s a fact.
“I have heard all of the rumours, the interest from Italy and so on.
“Honestly, that is of no interest to me.”
Palace sign Brede Hangeland
Crystal Palace F.C. have completed the signing of defender Brede Hangeland from Fulham on a free transfer.
The Norway international, 33, has put pen to paper on a one-year deal at Selhurst Park, joining new arrivals Fraizer Campbell and Marouane Chamakh.
Hangeland made over 200 appearances in all competitions for the Cottagers, including 29 last term, since joining from Copenhagen in 2008.
“It’s been a long morning and I am obviously delighted to sign the contract,” Hangeland told the club’s official website.
“We had training after the medical and I am extremely happy to be here. It’s been a long day, but a great day.
“I’ve done my homework on Palace, obviously I played against them last year and watched them play and they looked like an incredibly strong team.
“Everyone said that it’s a club which is up-and-coming with a great bunch of lads with a good manager who organises the team well and it’s in London which is convenient for me. So I am delighted to be here and I cannot wait to get going.”
Hangeland will compete with Adrian Mariappa, Damien Delaney and Scott Dann for regular first-team football next season.
Crystal Palace will start their 2014/15 English Premier League campaign away to Arsenal on Saturday, 16 August.
