Germany defender Holger Badstuber has admitted he would prefer to face England, rather than Italy, in the Euro 2012 semi-finals.
Joachim Loew’s men beat Greece 4-2 on Friday in the quarter-finals to book a place in the last four, with the winners of Sunday’s game between England and Italy their next opponents.
The Bayern Munich centre-back has confessed Roy Hodgson’s men would be easier to beat considering Germany’s style of play, and is hoping for a rematch of the Euro 1996 semi-final.
“I would rather face England. Why? They suit us better,” he told reporters after the victory over Fernando Santos’ side.
Germany’s semi-final against either England or Italy will take place on Thursday in Warsaw.
