Bale drops La Liga hint; Buffon stays, Del Neri’s future in doubt

Bale drops La Liga hint

Tottenham winger Gareth Bale says he is ready to move abroad one day in the future, adding fuel to speculations that he could leave White Hart Lane next summer.

The 21-year-old, who’s been linked with European giants Barcelona, Real Madrid and Inter admits he is tempted with an opportunity of continuing his career abroad.

“You never know, but I’m not afraid to leave the country,” Bale told AS.

“If a great opportunity arises you need to seriously consider it. I left home at 15. If I leave the Premier League, I’ll learn another language, I’ll know other people, another country, I will grow as a person.

“There aren’t more British players abroad because the league is very strong, but now yours has got Cristiano, Messi…”

Turning to the Champions League clash against Real Madrid, Bale said:

“We’re all really looking forward to the game. We sincerely believe that over the two games we can get through.”

“They are a fantastic team, I’ve seem them almost every week for years, I love the Spanish league. But we know how to beat them.

“Madrid play on the counter and the three players up front have a lot of quality. Mourinho has them well-organised, Xabi Alonso always knows what the game needs. A draw at the Bernabeu would be very good.”

Buffon stays, Del Neri’s future in doubt

Juventus general manager Giuseppe Marotta has rejected claims that Gianuligi Buffon will be leaving the club in the summer.

The Italy international was linked with a move to Manchester United, but Juventus chief revealed that the Bianconeri wanted Buffon to stay.

“We will be counting on Buffon for the present and the future,” Marotta was quoted as saying following Juventus’ 2:0 win over Roma.

“We regularly talk with the player himself and his agent Silvano Martina. It is not our intention to sell him.”

On the other hand, the future of boss Luigi Del Neri is still up for debate.

“Del Neri has a contract and he’s done his work as best he can up until now,” Marotta added.

“There have been a lot of difficulties and misfortune, but evaluations will need to be made with him further down the line.

“We have started a project together, but I don’t think he is to blame for the League position we find ourselves in.”

Juventus currently sit in 7th place in Serie A standings with the playing and coaching personnel set to undergo major changes in the summer.

Emmanuel Adebayor hints at Premier League return

Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor currently on loan at Real Madrid says he would like to return to the Premiership one day.

The Togolese striker is hoping Real Madrid will buy out his contract from Manchester City, but he didn’t rule out a return to the Premiership.

“I have been playing in England for five years, I had the chance to play in France for a couple of years, so it is a good time for me to play in Spain,” Adebayor told The Sun.

“If I have the chance to go back to England one day, why not? I will never throw England away. I love the football, I love the atmosphere.

“But don’t get me wrong, I am very happy where I am, the future will show where I go but for now I am just happy to be on the football pitch again, playing football.

“That is all that matters now. We will talk in the summer about what I am going to do about my career.”

The Togolese striker is unhappy with the treatment he received at Eastlands and he is hoping to stay in Madrid even after his loan deal finishes at the end of the season.
