Real Madrid will be without Gareth Bale for their UEFA Champions League tie with Copenhagen after the Welshman suffered a hamstring strain.
The club reported on their official website that their world record signing had been diagnosed with a sore left hamstring, with his name omitted from the squad of 21 to face Copenhagen on Wednesday.
Bale had only just returned from a similar injury, which caused him to miss last month’s league wins over Getafe and Elche.
He came off the bench for the second half of Saturday’s 1-0 defeat to Atletico Madrid, but the latest complaint represents another minor setback in his fledgling career in the Spanish capital.
The Wales international is set to undergo a test to diagnose the problem further on Wednesday.
Bale is reportedly struggling to reach full fitness, having featured in just 45 minutes of pre-season for Tottenham, before heading to La Liga the day before the transfer window closed.
Madrid come into the game at the top of Group B having thrashed Galatasaray 6-1 in Turkey on matchday one, while Copenhagen earned a point thanks to a surprise 1-1 draw at home to Juventus.
