Mario Balotelli wants to see new recruits join him at Milan if the club are to be competitive next season.

The Serie A outfit lost out on the signature of Carlos Tevez to Juventus last week and Balotelli believes that new players are required if Milan are to compete both domestically and in the UEFA Champions League in 2013-14.

Specifically, the former Inter and Manchester City forward would like to see Paris Saint-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic join him at San Siro.

“We are strong, but to compete at a European level we need reinforcements,” the 22-year-old told Sport Mediaset. “I would like Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

“I told Tevez to come to Milan, but he obviously did not listen.”

Balotelli moved to San Siro in January this year and proved to be a shrewd acquisition as Milan finished third in Serie A in 2012-13, scoring 12 goals in 13 appearances.

And he revealed that he is happy with life at his new club, after a troubled time with former employers Manchester City.

“Milan are a team that I have in my heart – it is a great club with a huge fan-base,” he added.
