Baptista set for Bolton move

Bolton Wanderers are set to complete the shock signing of former Arsenal and Real Madrid forward Julio Baptista, according to the Express.

The Trotters have had a tough start to the campaign – their first back in the second tier after gaining promotion last May – taking just two points from their opening five fixtures.

They currently sit bottom of the Championship, below Brentford on goal difference with manager Phil Parkinson keen to strengthen his squad despite the transfer window closing a week ago.

Baptista is currently without a club having been released from his contract with MLS side Orlando City back in November and could now return to England for the first time since turning out for the Gunners during a loan spell in the 2006/07 campaign.

He played thirty-five times for Arsene Wenger’s side, scoring ten goals and played in the League Cup final defeat to Chelsea in Cardiff.
