Barcelona defender Marc Bartra faces up to three weeks on the sidelines after pulling a muscle in his right leg during training on Sunday.
The Spain Under-21 star, who has found first-team opportunities more forthcoming in recent weeks due to injuries to his defensive colleagues, did not travel with the squad to Russia for Tuesday’s Champions League clash with Spartak Moscow.
And he could miss up to six matches as Barcelona look to confirm their place in the latter stages of the tournament and maintain their unbeaten record in La Liga.
The 21-year-old, who made his debut for the Catalans in 2009-10, has played in four league games so far this season and seven in all competitions.
