Barca in fresh assault on Lars Bender

Barcelona are readying a new assault on Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Lars Bender, according to La Porteria, a program on Barcelona TV.

The Catalans reportedly plan to sign Danilo from FC Porto and the Germany international, with the two players included in Josep Maria Bertomeu’s presidential bid.

While it is no secret that Barcelona aim to recruit Danilo as a replacement for Dani Alves, they are also ready to make their interest concrete in Lars Bender.

The 25-year-old is also on the radar of Arsenal, who are reportedly prepared to splash out around €30 million on his services.

Lars Bender has long been linked with a big club move, having spent last five and a half years at Bay Arena, making 155 Bundesliga appearances.

Bayer Leverkusen currently occupy sixth position in the league standings, but they can be backed at 1/2 to achieve a top 4 finish in the current campaign.
