Barca not afraid of Inter-Lionel Messi

Barcelona star Lionel Messi is confident about his teams form and insists their Champions League clash with Inter Milan is a must win game.

The Azulgranas are inconsistent in European football this season with just two wins out of their last five and currently lie second in Group F sharing their stand with Russian outfit Rubin Kazan.

Speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Messi said: “We have to win. And that’s it. After losing points with Rubin, we’re forbidden from making any more mistakes at home. Otherwise qualification for the next stage would be really at risk.

“They are a great team and we will need to play our best football. But we can’t afford to slip up. We respect them, but we certainly are not afraid of them.”

When asked about his new team-mate Zlatan Ibrahimovic who joined Barcelona during the summer transfer, Messi enthusiastically said that his relationship with the Swedish striker is getting better with each game.

He added, “Every time that we play together we understand each other a little more.”

“He has great qualities both on and off the pitch.”

Barcelona host Inter Milan, who lead the Group F with six points to their name after claiming their first win of the campaign away to Dynamo Kiev last week, at the Camp Nou, Barcelona two weeks from today.
