(GSM) – Barcelona’s star midfielder Yaya Toure has rejected rumors concerning a possible move to England by stating that there is no bigger club for him than the reigning European champions.
Toure has been linked to both Arsenal and Manchester City, where his brother Kolo plays, as likely destinations in recent months.
While, Toure has carved out a reputation as one of the best defensive midfielder’s in Europe since joining Barca in 2007, he has started only five games in the Primera Liga this season with Seydou Keita and Sergi Busquets providing strong competition for a first-team place.
And the player’s agent, Dimitri Seluk, has warned Barcelona that they must play Toure or risk losing him, but the man who will represent Ivory Coast at the World Cup finals insists he is not entertaining thoughts of leaving Camp Nou.
“I am happy at Barcelona and I don’t think there is a club in the world that is bigger than this one,” Toure said. “For me, the only priority is that the team keeps on winning.”
After coming through the famed ASEC Abidjan academy in his native Ivory Coast, Toure enjoyed spells with Beveren, Metalurg Donetsk, Olympiakos and Monaco before moving to Barca.
