Barcelona and Real Madrid in bidding war for John Stones

As one of the most coveted young defenders in Europe, John Stones is subject to intense transfer speculation linking him away from Everton.

The Toffees manager Roberto Martinez insists that the talented England international will not leave Goodison Park this month in spite of sustained transfer interest from Chelsea and Manchester United for the 21-year-old.

However, the Spanish outlet As reports that Barcelona and Real Madrid have engaged in the battle for John Stones’ signature adding that La Liga giants are ready to wait until summer to acquire the services of the Everton talent.

Everton will not be willing to let Stones go for less than €66 million according to Spanish outlet, but Barcelona and Real Madrid have reportedly identified Stones as the future star and a worthy investment.

Barcelona’s interest in Stones is not new and the Catalan club’s scouts have been visiting Everton for months now keeping tabs of the youngster’s development at Goodison.

Real Madrid have also closely followed the Everton defender and are stepping up their interest in efforts to sing the player after their FIFA transfer ban expires.
