Barcelona have successfully concluded contract talks with head coach Tito Vilanova, sewing up the former assistant for two years.
The Catalans have announced on their official website that the 42-year-old trainer will sign the contract on Friday.
Barcelona were in the market for a coach due to the departure of Pep Guardiola, who opted not to renew his contract earlier this year.
The club revealed on the day that Guardiola announced his imminent departure, that Vilanova would replace the former Spain international at the helm, and they have now reached an agreement.
Vilanova joined Barcelona as assistant to Guardiola at the club’s B team in 2007, and was promoted alongside Pep to the senior side the following year.
He steered Barcelona to 14 titles during his four years on the bench as Guardiola’s assistant.
