Spanish giants FC Barcelona have reportedly made their interest in Real Madrid striker Robinho more official. This was revealed by the player’s manager on Friday.
Manager Wagner Ribeiro told radio Onda Cero that he was approached by a member of Barcelona’s board.
“I told him to talk to chairman Ramón Calderón [of Real Madrid], because I don’t have a say in this.”
Robinho has been linked to several clubs lately. Media speculated that the Brazilian would be part of an exchange deal with Manchester United, in order to bring Cristiano Ronaldo to Spain’s capital city.
But the forward himself refused to be treated that way. In fact, he recently requested for his salary to be doubled.
Ribeiro expects more clarity soon: “He will want to know what his future is like before he leaves for Beijing [to represent the Brazilian Olympic team].”
