Talk Sport is today reporting that Barcelona believe they have won the race to sign Brazilian hot-shot Neymar next summer – but he insists that he is not leaving his club Santos just yet.
Barca seems to be in a battle with Manchester City and Chelsea to try and sign the forward, and it is being reported that they have paid the Brazilian club £8 million to have the first option on the 20-year-old when he does decide to head to Europe.
However, English Premier League outfits City and Chelsea will not give up hope on landing one of the most highly-rated youngsters in the world – despite the Catalan side feeling confident of landing his signature.
However, Neymar says he is not ready for European football at the moment: I’m happy at Santos. I have a dream of playing in Europe, but it’s still not the right moment.”
There is no doubt that the Brazil international has a huge array of talent and has the potential to go on and be one of the best players in the world.
Many would love to see Neymar link up with Lionel Messi in the future, but it does not seem as though he is going anywhere just yet.
It is certainly a story to keep an eye on.
