Barcelona eyeing Djibril Sidibe

Spanish La Liga champions Barcelona are hot on the trail of Monaco full-back Djibril Sidibe, El Mundo Deportivo can reveal.

The Catalans are in the market for a new right-sided defender and considering that Valencia do not seem prepared to listen to offers for Joao Cancelo, the Catalans are forced to explore other targets.

According to El Mundo Deportivo, Monaco defender Djibril Sidibe is high on the club’s wish list.

The Catalans have watched the 24-year-old on a number of occasions this season and they seem convinced he has the potential to develop into a world-class footballer.

While he has been used at right-back at Monaco, Sidibe spent the entire last season operating on the left hand side and it is this versatility that will further improve his chances of moving to Camp Nou.

Sidibe has even broken into the France national team and made four appearances for Les Bleus in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.
