Barcelona eyeing Frankie de Jong

Barcelona are stepping up their efforts to recruit Ajax starlet Frankie de Jong, according to El Mundo Deportivo.

With Antoine Griezmann having rejected a move to Camp Nou, the Catalans now have €100 million ready to invest in other targets.

According to El Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona officials have decided to try and lure Frankie de Jong to Camp Nou.

The 21-year-old enjoyed a breakthrough season last term, producing 7 assists in just 16 Eredivisie starts and the Catalans have since been hot on his trail.

Having also agreed to sign Brazilian midfielder Arthur, Barcelona officials hope that De Jong will further improve the middle of the park, allowing Coutinho to move to the left wing.
