Sport Bild has suggested that Barcelona are keeping close tabs on Manchester United youngster Angel Gomes.
The central midfielder is widely regarded as one of the hottest prospects in the Red Devils youth academy and he is on the verge of getting promoted to the first team set-up.
Gomes has been in excellent form this season, bagging 7 goals in 11 appearances in the Under-18 Premier League, while he has also captained England Under-17 side even though he is eligible to represent Portugal and Angola as well.
Spanish giants Barcelona were keen on luring him to Camp Nou, but the youngster and his family decided he was better off staying at Old Trafford and waiting for his chance.
Manchester United academy boss Nicky Butt has suggested that the club had high hopes for the 16-year-old footballer and it remains to be seen whether Jose Mourinho will give him a chance to shine before the end of the season.
