Barcelona in ambitious bid for Thiago Alcantara

Spanish media outlet Cadena Ser is reporting that Barcelona are weighing up summer bid for Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara.

The Catalans have clearly lived to regret allowing the footballer to join the Bavarians as he quickly developed into an important member of the squad at Allianz Arena.

Having experienced all sorts of problems in midfield of late, Barcelona are now keen to bring Thiago back to Camp Nou.

That could prove a very difficult task considering that Bayern Munich have no intention of letting him leave, and are rather expected to offer the player a new long-term deal.

Thiago Alcantara has over two years left on his current contract, and he appears to be perfectly happy to remain at Allianz Arena.

After Barcelona staged a stunning comeback against PSG to reach the Champions League quarter-finals, the two sides will be vying for the coveted trophy, with the Catalans 11/4 favourites at the moment.
