Barcelona in surprise Johnson link

Barcelona are eyeing a shock move for Stoke City defender Glen Johnson, according to the Mirror.

The Spanish giants are on the look out for a cut-price full-back for when the transfer window reopens in January and have identified the former England international as a target.

Dani Alves joined Juventus in the summer, Sergio Roberto is out injured leaving Aleix Vidal as their only recognised right-back.

Johnson moved to the Bet 365 Stadium in the summer of 2015 and has since racked up thirty-three appearances for the club in all competitions.

Prior to his switch to the Potters he played two hundred times for Liverpool while he has also had spells with Portsmouth, Chelsea and West Ham United as well as a loan stint with Millwall.

He was also capped fifty-four times for his country, scoring his one and only international goal in a 3-1 friendly victory over Mexico in 2010.
