The Cristiano Ronaldo circus continues. After the English press reported that the player will leave Old Trafford within one year so that he can realize his dream of playing for Real Madrid, Marca said that Barcelona are now interested in the tricky winger.
Barcelona could have presidential elections coming up as Joan Laporta, current president, faces a motion of non-confidence, and Ronaldo seems to be the big-name pawn that could swing the outcome of the vote, Marca reports.
The Barcelona camp that wants to sign Cristiano Ronaldo as part of their campaign believe that they have many arguments to convince Cristiano Ronaldo to move to the Catalan club rather than Real Madrid. But, with the potential election due to be held in September, it is unlikely that Barcelona will make their move for the player this summer.
