Barcelona keen on Chelsea defender

El Mundo Deportivo understands that Barcelona are hot on the trail of Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso.

The Catalans seem ready to offload Jordi Alba and they have made the Blues full-back one of their primary targets.

Prizing Alonso away from Stamford Bridge will be no easy task considering that Antonio Conte thinks highly of him, but Barcelona officials hope the player’s desire to move to Camp Nou will make the difference.

Namely, Alonso’s father used to play for the Catalans and it goes without saying that his son is keen on representing the La Liga champions as well.

Barcelona also plan to splash out on former player Hector Bellerin, but if Arsenal refuse to sell, they will have money to spend on the Chelsea defender.

Marcos Alonso will be in the starting line-up when the Blues take on West Bromwich tonight and they are 4/11 to claim maximum points and secure the Premier League trophy.
