Barcelona keen on Portuguese starlet

Spanish giants Barcelona are among clubs showing interest in Pacos de Ferreira youngster Diogo Jose Teixeira da Silva, according to A Bola.

The Catalans scouts reportedly watched the talented footballer in action in weekend’s defeat to Rio Ave and they continue to keep close tabs on the 18-year-old.

Numerous other European sides are also keen on the attacking midfielder, who has seen his stock rise a great deal over the last year.

Diogo Jota began his professional career at Pacos de Ferreira, scoring 2 goals in 10 league appearances last term.

He has since started four matches for the club this term, scoring one goal in the process, while missing one game through suspension.

The Portugal Under-19 international has impressed the visiting scouts with his performances and Pacos de Ferreira chiefs face a tough task of trying to keep hold of his services, with some of Europe’s best sides casting admiring glances his way.
