El Mundo Deportivo has suggested that Barcelona received a very good proposal for midfielder Sergi Roberto.
An unnamed European club reportedly offered €35 million for the 25-year-old footballer, but the Catalans decided to reject the bid.
This is enough to suggest that new head coach Ernesto Valverde sees the La Masia product in his plans for the new season.
It remains to be seen whether Sergi Roberto will be used as a central midfielder or he will continue to operate on the right hand side.
The Spain international has so far amassed 95 La Liga appearances for the Catalans, but he has yet to score his first league goal.
