Barcelona to clinch the Griezmann deal before the World Cup

According to Catalan outlet Sport, Barcelona are prepared to go full-throttle to wrap the Griezmann deal up before the upcoming World Cup in Russia begins.

The Blaugrana are aware that Atletico Madrid wish to keep hold of their star player at all costs, and also that the player himself has made it clear he would like his future sorted before the World Cup. Therefore, they have decided to step up their plans to get the French attacker to Camp Nou, and they will try to get it done as soon as possible.

The issues that Barcelona still face are Griezmann’s potential salary, and what the transfer might cause in their relationship with the Madrid club. According to the report, Griezmann is set to accept a lower salary in order for Barca’s wage structure to remain intact, but with high bonuses. The meeting between the two clubs is set to take place in the coming days, and then Barcelona will officially express their wish to sign Antoine Griezmann. In order to avoid things coming to activating his €100 million release clause and forcing Atletico into the sale, the Catalan club are willing to pay more than that, if Aletico accept the payment to be made in installments.
