With Samuel Eto’o and Eidur Gudjhonsen reportedly on their way out of Nou Camp, new Barcelona boss, Guardiola, would like to strengthen his attacking line-up. Rumours in Italy say that he has identified Inter’s striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic as the player he wants, according to Diario Sport.
The Italian newspaper also mentions that the deal that would take Zlatan to Barcelona would have to be part exchange since the Swede is valued so highly and Inter want to have a ready made replacement for their start striker. That is where Samuel Eto’o would come in the equation.
The Cameroonian has been courted by a host of clubs including Inter’s city rivals AC Milan, says football website Goal.com. But most of the clubs linked with the Barca star would have trouble paying the transfer fee that the player would command – though to be around €35 million.
Last week the rumours were flowing that Barcelona were willing to offer Eto’o for Romanian defender Chivu. But those stories have cooled down since, so it is unclear whether there is any intent in these stories yet.
