Batistuta set for a return to football

The former Argentina goal-machine Gabriel Omar Batistuta is set to become an assistant of Argentina coach Sergio Batista.

The former Boca Juniors, Fiorentina and Roma player will be appointed as the technical director of the office los Albiceleste will open in Europe.

Batistuta will travel to Doha next week to attend the friendly match between Argentina and Brazil, where he would have the chance to meet with the rest of the staff.

After retiring from football in 2005, Batistuta has started and completed his coaching badges in Argentina, while he also expressed interest in coaching los Albicelestes.

Therefore, the confidence the Argentine Football Association has shown in him means they probably see Batigol as the man who can take charge of the national team in the future.
