Bayern challenge Zenit for Leandro Paredes

La Gazzetta dello Sport suggests that Bayern Munich have made a late attempt to hijack Zenit’s deal for Leandro Paredes.

The Russian giants are believed to have agreed a €65 million double swoop for Kostas Manolas and Leandro Paredes, but the Bavarians believe there is still time to persuade the Argentine to head to Allianz Arena instead.

The 22-year-old was initially reluctant to join Zenit and Bayern Munich have now sent their representatives to Rome to try and persuade the youngster to snub a move to Russia.

Paredes has seen his stock rise a great deal after some solid showings last season, and he even managed to score on his Argentina debut earlier this month.

The former Boca Juniors starlet is widely regarded as one of world’s hottest prospects, and no wonder Bayern Munich are keen on his services.
